ABOUT DEBORAH WANG
Deborah is a Taiwanese Canadian architect, curator and designer based in Toronto, with a broad range of experiences and education in contemporary art, design and architecture that spans 25 years. Through her diverse practice, Deborah has curated and co-curated exhibitions for the Textile Museum of Canada, Harbourfront Centre, Gladstone Hotel, XPACE Cultural Centre, Art Gallery of Ontario, The New Gallery (Calgary), and WantedDesign (New York); organized numerous public programs and exhibitions for DesignTO; and designed for the award-winning architectural practices KPMB and superkül. As a community leader and design expert, she has been featured in The Globe and Mail, profiled in Azure Magazine, and interviewed by Monocle Radio. Currently Deborah is Artistic Director of DesignTO, a non-profit arts organization that produces Canada\'s largest annual design festival, and leads her own architecture and design studio dw /a. Deborah holds a Master of Fine Arts from OCAD University, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Waterloo, where she earned the highest academic award: the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Student Medal. She is a licensed architect with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) and was awarded with their Medal of Service in 2024.
