Founder and Director of ECLIPSE. A platform that develops and delivers specialist family violence training to frontline family violence responders and practitioners. All ECLIPSE training, content and facilitators have lived experience of family violence and are specialists in the family violence sector. ECLIPSE call this critical combination of knowledge the Combined Lived Experience Lens ©. As the Founder, I developed the Practitioner-Victim Insight Concept (PVIC) © which is a concept that clearly explains Coercive Control as an overarching Umbrella Tactic of Family Violence that results in Whole of Person Entrapment. The six sub concepts of PVIC:1. The Coercive Control Equation 2. Rewards Based Phenomenon3. Coercive Control - The Umbrella Tactic4. Layers of Consequence 5. Invisible Walls6. Whole of Person Entrapment These concepts are developed through the lens of lived experience and specialist practice knowledge.I also developed the C2/R3 © concept - a focus on recognising and honouring primary victim Resistance strategies in every aspect of our work. C2/R3 is a process of using primary victim Resistance strategies to reconstruct victim blaming mindsets. It is a five stage process to move from judgement to empathy and compassion to ensure, support, and inform appropriate and responseECLIPSE is changing practice and mindsets across Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. Learning from lived experience is critical to ensuring empathetic responseI do not believe that we learn from words alone. I believe that we learn from the feelings words evoke in us. The true power of lived experience learning is that attendees develop true empathy as they journey WITH us, experience WITH us, feel WITH us in a safe and professional environment. The lessons of lived experience of FV are woven into practice examples to bring family violence understanding to life. Empathy is the key to connection and therefore positive outcomes and safer families
