Teaching • Over 20 years successfully and safely instructing adults, youth and children in high-level outdoor skill programs. • Plan prepare and deliver interesting and engaging Ministry of Ontario education environmental science, geography, history, and outdoor education curriculum to grade 7-12 • Effectively planned, prepared and delivered interesting and engaging lessons meeting the Ontario College Curriculum guidelines for college credit within the Outdoor Adventure Diploma program for Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus. • Evaluated and awarded students with college credits for outdoor skills courses which also included academic components in report writing and analysis • Enthusiastically build healthy relationships with students while developing an awareness of their various learning strategies Curriculum Expertise • Subject specialist with extensive experience in course development and classroom delivery of Ontario curriculum courses in senior and intermediate level: geography, history, environmental science, learning strategies, outdoor education, and media arts. • Highly skilled program development specialist experienced at integrating curriculum expectations into camp and specialty programs in order to create beneficial links to classroom education. • Part of a team that developed the curriculum and teaching guidelines for Algonquin College’s outdoor adventure diploma program.
