ABOUT DAVID SMITH

David. Smith Is an AECOM Regional Transportation Operations Manager with over 30 years of experience in executive leadership, project management and transportation engineering in the areas of design, construction, operations/maintenance, quality management, people and culture development, project controls, first nations engagement, safety, traffic management, public consultation, environmental regulations, utility coordination and Archaeological requirements. Prior to joining AECOM, he worked with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure for over 25 years in various roles including construction engineering technician, equipment operator, preservation standards specialist, construction and design project manager, senior construction and design project manager, director of operations and regional executive director. Over his career with the provincial government and in the private sector, Mr. Smith has held positions with increasing responsibility, while always working to demonstrate positive performance and service excellence. He is currently leading a high-performing team dedicated to the design and implementation of transportation engineering solutions in bridges, roads, airports and rail. David has demonstrated that he is an energetic, innovative, and a forward-facing thinker. His career accomplishments show success in alternative procurement, change management, organizational development, collaboration and team building David is grounded in public policy principles and interest-based solutions. Mr. Smith has worked in a variety of complex engineering leadership roles and has worked in highly charged and often sensitive situations.
