ABOUT DAVID PULLINGER

My motivation is to understand how things work and how to make them better. I spend hours trying to plot a course for my team and our services to develop, grow and deliver market leading products for our clients to make their wind farms more productive, efficient and maximise their impact on climate change.I see the beauty in taking something incredibly complex and reducing it down so that I can understand it, use it and teach it. Over the last 10+ years I have been working in the field of renewable energy, with a focus on wind. My best days at work are those when- Strategy - charting a course for our team, identifying how we can grow commercially, technically and personally- Working through a problem (alone or as part of a team): gathering evidence researching, crunching statistics, building models - trying to validate a hunch or prove a theory that I have- Standing in front of clients and competitors, defending our position, explaining how we got there and telling the story that helps them understand the reasons why what we\'ve delivered is right for the job- Explaining a concept or some results to a colleague or a client and seeing, during the course of the discussion, the clouds of confusion turn in to clear understanding- Starting a project that is bigger or more complex than I\'ve ever dealt with before and buzzing with the possibilities and potential to achieve something amazing with my team.I\'m passionate in what I do and enjoy sharing that with anyone who is interested, whether that is talking to an under graduate who wants to know what it is like being an engineer, posting here on LinkedIn or writing articles or technical papers for publication.
