ABOUT DAVID KIM

I am a Director within RSM’s Financial Consulting practice in Toronto. I specialize in financial reporting and financial operations advisory for public (SEC filers and Canadian reporting issuers), PE-backed and private companies, particularly within the Technology, Media and Life Science sectors. I lead project teams that assist clients with implementing accounting standards and navigating complex transactions under IFRS, ASPE and US GAAP in a variety of scenarios (post-acquisition integrations, IPOs, SPAC/CPC/RTO mergers, GAAP conversions, other transformative events), as well as identifying systems/process gaps and optimization opportunities within their finance functions.I am very passionate about mentorship, continuous learning and professional development. I participate in various formal mentorship programs, including through my alma mater and my firm\'s Employee Network Groups, for which I serve as the national leader of the network group for RSM’s Pan-Asian professionals. I am also active in providing my expertise through learning and development initiatives as a facilitator for technical training and as an event speaker. I previously volunteered as a Board member and Treasurer for Youth Rising Above, with the Sponsorship and Member Engagement team for Ascend Canada and with the Community Development team for the Korean Canadian Scholarship Fund.
