I am a results oriented and people focused Leader with more than 25 years experience optimising operations within complex high-risk environments. I began my career in the Navy within the marine engineering branch before making a change to project management. I then moved into Maintenance Planning, Asset Ownership, Superintendent and Management roles in refineries. I have been leading teams since 1996. My breath of experience spans across production, asset management, materials handling (including conveying, mills), shutdown planning & execution, shipping & logistics and wharf operations. This is complimented by specialist technical knowledge in fixed plant operation and maintenance, corrosion remediation and structural integrity remediation. My people leadership and technical skills is underpinned by solid business acumen including capabilities in setting strategy, safety & environment, contractor management, auditing, financial management (OPEX & CAPEX), and driving growth of the business.Known as a straight shooter who gets things done, I bring a solid track record in turning around underperforming teams into high performance operations. A driver of cultural change, along with my ability to influence and communicate concise messaging, I offer highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills which aid in implementing innovative and fit-for-purpose solutions. I am big on behavioural safety leadership as I set clear expectations and walk the talk. I am a confident presenter with an adaptable style who builds solid working relationships from Executive to the front line. Well versed in leading culturally diverse workforces of up to 500 FTE and contractors, I am a team orientated player who remains aware of group and team dynamics as I take a vested interest in coaching, mentoring individuals to step up, do their best and find solutions.
