Pfizer is a leading global pharmaceutical company, well-known today for combatting the COVID-19 pandemic. The company has four major divisions: Worldwide Research, Development and Medical; Biopharmaceuticals; Pfizer Global Supply; and Corporate Affairs. I advanced into this role with the Worldwide Research, Development and Medical organization based on my big-picture thinking that takes a molecular entity from idea to product. I manage a drug safety team that oversees and ensures quality safety testing of major pharmaceutical products including the COVID-19 vaccine. My group is the final clearinghouse that reviews each drug to assure that it’s safe to advance to clinical trials. My responsibilities include: GLOBAL TOXICOLOGY TEAM • Managing & mentoring 10 direct reports • Serving as Liaison to Compliance Oversight Committee • Managing nonclinical safety protocol and report development and finalization DRUG DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY • Serving as the Liaison to Immunization & Inflammation Therapeutic Area • Ensuring timely delivery of regulatory components for submissions DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION (DEI) • Served as lead of the Groton site Global Black Community • Serving as Pfizer Global Black Community External Impact Pillar Lead • Founding member of the Black Directors Health Equity Agenda (BDHEA) In this role I successfully: Lead the FDA inspection team through two inspections in last five years with only one finding in the first inspection and none in the second Spearhead the Pfizer Global Black Community External Impact Pillar addressing social inequities through strategic external partnerships, programing, & outreach improving the community’s ability to reduce healthcare disparities and building relationships and partnerships within the community Partner with Deloitte to create Health Equity Playbook with focus on patient access, patient advocacy, and pharmaceutical pricing
