ABOUT DAVE THACKER

A passion for all things automotive and manufacturing has kept me motivated during a diverse career in the fast paced world of automotive.I have gained significant experience of vehicle development, the manufacturing process, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) supplier development & the global supply chain.Creating integrated plant/commercial/R&D/Quality processes and systems from a blank sheet at Polestar R&D. Working at a ‘start up’ has been eye opening but rewarding being involved with development of such great products. This involves defining requirements, stakeholder management, digital development, test & delivery, followed by user training and process governance.I spent time developing process & systems to shoe horn a Nissan vehicle into a Renault vehicle plant. Using ‘Business Process Re-engineering’ has demonstrated my analytical, problem solving & decision making skills. Naturally a lot of negotiation and stakeholder management was needed. All new processes required a structured roll out including hands on staff training, requiring great communication & presentation whilst engaging, coaching & mentoring with staff from different cultures with different abilities. The role also gave me responsibility for cross company governance.I have been Project Leader for supplier development & Bill Of Materials (BOM) management teams on multiple new vehicles across the Renault/Nissan Alliance. This demonstrates a proven track record in strategy & objective setting, Project Management & delivery.Experience has given me an eye for detail but also the ability to see the big picture.
