ABOUT DARRYL COOKE
I am the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of gunnercooke llp, a full service commercial and corporate law firm. We set up the firm in 2010 to challenge the way professional services are delivered and we have since grown globally to almost 300 partners across seven offices. In addition we have a specialist and growing management consultancy business. We have been recognised by 42 industry awards which is pleasing and humbling. A key part of our vision is to ‘create a better world than we found’. I firmly believe that businesses have all the tools and resources to help solve the world’s problems and are better placed than government to do so. It is this belief that encouraged me to set up the gunnercooke foundation, which amongst other things connects ambitious charities and not for profit organisations with business leaders through a hub system to help them grow. We are currently working with 80 or so such ambitious organisations. Our work has taken us into many different and worthwhile projects. CSR is so much more than painting a fence or a staff away day. I enjoy writing and speaking on topics such as philanthropy, leadership and innovation, and feel lucky to have interviewed some fascinating guests for our Inspiring Leadership Podcast including Sir John Timpson and Hassan Damluji. My publications include ‘To Innovate or Not To Innovate’, ‘Private Equity: Law & Practice’, which is now in its seventh edition, and a short story for our Inspiring Leadership campaign: ‘The Square Mile’.
