ABOUT DAPHNE E. ONG
I am a systems engineering analyst with a specialization in biomedical engineering and medical informatics, with 8 years of combined experience from work and education. This experience includes work with computers, software, hardware, design, research and laboratory work. In the various capacities as a volunteer and mentor, I have had the opportunity to develop leadership skills ranging from peer mentoring, to consensus building, to financial planning, to marketing, to external relations, and project management.Until recently I was a graduate student at Carleton University developing and designing research methods and applying machine-learning techniques and tools towards the analysis of clinical patient data to model and support decision-making in health-care.As an individual who is passionate about and a strong advocate of women in tech, sciences and engineering initiatives and outreach, I spend time volunteering for related events and causes. I am seeking opportunities to apply and expand knowledge related to my area of studies and interests in engineering, health care, emerging technologies, data science, machine learning, HCI, telemedicine and clinical research.
