ABOUT DAPHNE BOEY

As much as I have always loved everything to do with computers, I\'ve never liked binaries. How can one ever expect to always colour between the lines in this big and complex reality that we exist in? Life is not a straight line, so work shouldn\'t be too. This is perhaps why I\'ve found myself in positions that are varied, but always challenging – and ultimately fulfilling – over the years. The means should never dictate the end, and at the end of the day, I am a storyteller. Part writer, part tech hobbyist, a pursuer of knowledge and a student of the world, I\'m fully dedicated in whatever I do – and I am blessed to have been given the opportunity, time and again, to learn – and utilise the knowledge that I\'ve learned in all that I do. My experience and interests across disciplines reflect professionally too, in which I aim to be more expansive than limited, more experimental than safe. This is apt perhaps in an environment that increasingly rewards people less for colouring within the lines, but more for being able to take the damn crayons and create something that\'s not necessarily always the best, but interesting and refreshing. Before this becomes a magnum opus of a summary, I will end off with something I believe fervently in: As long as we stay true to the story we are telling, and strive to do so together, we will get where we want – and need – to be.
