ABOUT DAN WANDSCHNEIDER NEALSCHNEIDER
At Schrödinger, Inc, a computational chemistry company in Portland, Oregon and New York. We make software to make discovering therapeutics and materials easier and faster. I\'m the Tech Lead for the Scientific Infrastructure team. Our team maintains and extends the core chemistry libraries that underpin tools across the Schrödinger suite. We’re interested in software engineering - we want our code to be robust across its lifecycle. We’re also interested in programming - we want our code to be performant and correct across different chemistries or numbers of molecules. Some of this code is proprietary, but we also contribute to open source projects.I completed my Master of Science in physical chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. My focus was using computational simulations to determine geometric properties of biochemical reactions that occur on the femtosecond time scale. I have also worked as a teacher in Dubai, and as a volunteer coordinator for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.Specialties: C++, Python, SWIG, boost:python, automated testing, build systems, casual experience with C, golang, fortran, java & web development (django, js, d3).
