Direct recruit Service Controller, operationally managing the world’s second most frequent railway line- Demonstrating leadership and embedding a high standard of communication for all safety critical and non safety critical communications- Building and maintaining professional working relationships at all levels across the organisation, in order to achieve performance measures and to provide the highest level of service to customers- Fast time management of all operational incidents on the railway, on a 24/7 basis, working under pressure, whilst ensuring safe working practices. Highly competent in managing a myriad of incidents, including ‘person under a train’ emergencies, points/signalling/infrastructure failures, along with live customer, rolling stock and train crewing incidents- Proven ability to recover the service, following an incident, making fast time decisions, in the best interests of the railway and customer service- Ensuring safe working at all times for LU staff and for our customers (in line with all LU safety and operational procedures), with overall responsibility for the traction current supply to the railway- Leadership to remotely manage operational staff, in order to achieve KPI’s - 36 trains per hour during peak and average headways- Managing handover of the railway to Track Access Control at close of traffic, efficiently and safely, to enable engineering works- Implementation of “late surrender” safety procedures and negotiation to run the best service possible for our customers, whilst ensuring safety to staff working on the track- Facilitating both published and emergency possessions, overseeing the protection and traction current arrangements to create a safe operating environment on the track- Currently licensed as both LU Operational Manager & Service Controller- Formal Incident Management course completed January 2020.
