The jump from expert to leader is rarely just a promotion. For many women, it\'s where confidence dips, visibility stalls, and the old rules stop working.They may find themselves: • delivering strong results but not being seen as strategic• contributing in senior meetings but not always being fully heard • navigating visibility without wanting to self-promote• leading others while still questioning their own authority This is rarely a skills issue. More often, it is about a leadership identity transition. It is the shift from being valued for expertise to being recognised as a visible, trusted leader. I know this phase well because I have lived it myself.As a manager leading predominantly male sales teams and working as an expat in Germany, I learned first-hand that at this stage, performance alone is no longer enough.This is the point where identity shifts, visibility becomes political, confidence can drop, and authority must grow. This is where many women get stuck, not because they are not capable, but because the rules of leadership change.In this phase, I support women in strengthening their leadership identity, visibility, and authority.
