ABOUT DANIEL HOUGH

After receiving 9 GCSE\'s (grade A-C) as well as 3 A levels in English (B), Geography (C) and Business studies (B) and an AS level in Economics (C), I am currently studying BA Business Management (1 year in-company) at Nottingham Trent.I have just completed a one year’s industrial placement with EDF Energy Nuclear Generation, my time spent there was split up into 4 different attachments. The first was spent in a commercial team, I delivered value in this team by looking into to the contract controls. This was completed by analysing past financial records, from this I identified areas of improvements in the flow of money, I presented my findings to the commercial & project manager.My second attachment was in the projects team, this gave me allowed me to understand how the project process works, from definition of need to delivery of a project. I delivered value in this attachment through driving a way to contract easier with EDF Energy’s Strategic Partners, this was a target for Supply Chain after an internal review was conducted in 2015.My third attachment, I spent 15 weeks on Heysham 2 Power station pre and during an outage. During this time I chased up the open orders book, ensuring vital parts where delivered on time, using my influencing & negotiating skills. Also, I represented the whole of station Supply Chain during the Outage by sitting in the Supply Chain chair to process late spares requests.My final attachment was spent in Operations & Fleet Critical Programme for an optimization, during these placements I completed the Contractor Safety Trend Report for H1/2018, from this the report was presented to the Account Managers of the strategic partners as well as Industrial Safety. While compiling the report, I saw an opportunity to increase the accuracy of reporting, something which has been implemented I am currently working as a supply chain controller at Vertiv
