ABOUT DAN VANRIDER

I’m a Senior Architect who loves building things that blend real engineering with practical innovation. Over the last few years, that’s meant diving deep into GenAI building my own Claude‑Code AI lab, experimenting with agentic workflows, and developing production‑grade MVPs that run across GCP and OCI, with AWS next on the list. One of the projects I’m most proud of is a custom AI Development Platform I built from the ground up. It brings together a reusable Flutter front end, a self‑service IDP, a tightly integrated ITSM layer, and an AI‑driven IaC engine powered by Terraform, Ansible, and a custom RAG system. The goal was simple: create a platform where developers can request, generate, and deploy infrastructure automatically end‑to‑end, with GitOps baked in. It’s become my personal sandbox for exploring how AI can reshape cloud engineering. At Travel + Leisure Co, I focus on cloud modernization and cost‑efficient architecture. That includes Kubernetes platforms, scalable microservices, serverless full‑stack environments, Oracle optimization, Exadata modernization, and modern development tooling. I work closely with engineering teams to build proofs of concept, guide enterprise initiatives, and help the organization understand where AI and cloud scale can actually make a measurable impact. Before this, I was a Sr. Architect at Wells Fargo and USAA, working on Oracle platforms, high‑availability systems, and complex data‑warehouse integrations. That experience shaped how I think about reliability, clarity, and long‑term maintainability.Across every role, I’m driven by the same things: building systems that work, modernizing with purpose, and using AI in ways that make engineering faster, cleaner, and more scalable. I enjoy partnering with teams to turn ideas into something real, something that ships, runs, and delivers value.
