ABOUT DAN JARVIS

As Senior Relationship Manager at Arts Council England, I facilitate cultural investment and place-based partnerships across the North West and Yorkshire, working with cultural organisations, local authorities, and funders to strengthen the cultural infrastructure and ecology across the North. I also lead on the Creative People and Places (CPP) programme in the North West, a pioneering initiative that empowers communities in areas of historically low cultural engagement to shape their own cultural activities. CPP puts local people at the heart of cultural decision-making, fostering creativity, community cohesion, and long-term social impact. With over 15 years’ experience across the cultural sector in the North of England, I’ve worked in arts centres, theatres, museums, and galleries, as well as working as a freelance consultant, producer, and project manager. I am the founder and co-director of Green Carnation Theatre, an independent LGBTQ+ theatre company. I am a skilled and inclusive cultural leader and line manager committed to empowering communities and my teams, championing equity and inclusion in the arts. I have a proven track record in building strategic partnerships, designing projects and cultural strategies that drive social change. My expertise in social impact evaluation and audience engagement ensures that cultural projects create lasting benefits for the communities they serve. In addition to my professional work, I am a board member of LEGATO, the Association of European LGBTQ+ Choirs, and have previously served as a trustee of Elizabeth Gaskell’s House and Initiative Arts.
