5-Time Emmy Award-winning, certified broadcast meteorologist and author with 35 years of on-air experience, including 27 years in Top-10 TV markets. Broadcast experience also includes nearly 10 years of environmental and science reporting, live coverage of many tornado outbreaks, on-location reporting during several notable hurricanes including Hurricanes Bonnie, Fran, Floyd, and Opal, and writing/producing/hosting numerous severe weather specials and stories. Started professional career with the Techniques Development Lab, a branch of the National Weather Service, developing computer model based statistical guidance for use in weather forecasting. Author of two books, “Menacing Skies: Texas Weather and Stories of Survival” and “Washington Weather”. Specialties: Weather forecasting, graphics design, developing content for all social media platforms, conducting severe weather seminars, hosting charity/fundraising events and awards dinners/banquets.
