At the NDIA I lead the establishment and scale‑up of the Agency’s Data Science Hub (DaSH) applying AI, advanced analytics and data science to solve complex, high‑impact problems across the Scheme.The role spans AI strategy, platform architecture, operating model design, executive advisory, and responsible deployment of AI at scale.Key achievements & responsibilities- Built and scaled the Data Science Hub to a multidisciplinary team of 10 data scientists, engineers and graduates, delivering AI‑driven solutions to agency‑ and scheme‑wide challenges- Acted as a trusted executive partner on AI adoption, working with senior leaders to identify, prioritise and deploy AI use cases that uplift efficiency, participant experience and strategic outcomes- Led the development of the Agency’s Generative AI application, “Holly”, successfully piloted with ~100 users, with a planned Agency‑wide rollout to users following strong adoption and demonstrated value- Established squad‑based delivery models to develop predictive and decision‑support systems, including:1. Models to assess likelihood of future participant harm.2. A NLP and machine learning decision‑support system for participants, estimated to save the Agency ~$25M over five years.3. An AI‑enabled document decision‑support tool to reduce review time for Agency delegates.4. Machine learning approaches to estimate financial variation in participant plans under legislative change- Provided strategic and architectural leadership on scalable AI platforms, including retrieval‑augmented generation and LLM‑enabled applications, balancing performance, cost, security and governance- Championed responsible AI, served as AI Subject Matter Expert for the Agency‑wide AI Policy and Strategy, and authored the Acceptable Use of Generative AI Policy.This role combines AI strategy, platform design, governance and delivery leadership in a complex, highly regulated environment.
