ABOUT DAMEENI SAHU
I am a category management–oriented e-commerce professional with a strong foundation in merchandising execution, retail planning, and assortment analytics, focused on building scalable, data-led categories in high-growth retail environments.Currently working as a Merchandiser, I operate closely with category and planning teams on assortment structuring, catalog optimisation, inventory visibility, and performance tracking. My day-to-day work involves analysing sales, demand signals, and funnel metrics (CTR, sessions, ATC, CVR, AOV) to identify assortment gaps, improve SKU productivity, and support category-level decisions on pricing, promotions, and visibility.I have hands-on exposure to retail planning fundamentals including assortment mix optimisation, inventory monitoring, replenishment coordination, and seasonality-led planning. Through structured analysis of bestsellers, long-tail SKUs, and inventory health, I support decisions aimed at improving sell-through, availability, and conversion efficiency—key levers for category growth in marketplaces and quick-commerce models.Across my experience with Limelight Lab Grown Diamonds, UNI-DESIGN, Tenovia, and Nykaa, I have supported fashion and lifestyle categories by contributing to category strategy inputs, catalog audits, competitor benchmarking, and new product onboarding. This has given me an understanding of scale operations, fast assortment churn, and cross-functional execution, especially relevant for large e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms. With a Master’s in Fashion Management from NIFT and a background in business administration, I bring a balanced perspective that combines commercial thinking, analytical rigour, and customer-centric planning. I am now focused on transitioning into a Category Manager or Retail Planner role, where I can take deeper ownership of assortment strategy, inventory planning, conversion improvement, and sustainable category growth.
