As the founder of Calgary’s holistic approach to Renewable MicroGrids (ChatRMG), I lead a business development initiative focused on making energy systems for critical facilities more efficient, scalable, and investment-ready—aiming to reduce CAPEX and OPEX by 5 to 10 times. The global microgrid market is forecasted to reach $70B by 2034, with a 19% annual growth rate.We begin with a clear principle: no renewable energy deployment is truly sustainable without first addressing energy waste. That’s why energy efficiency upgrades must come before implementing solar, energy storage, wind, or EV charging systems. These foundational improvements reduce system costs and enable a more effective clean energy transition.At the core of our work is the ChatRMG Catalog—a concise, 1-page “shopping list” of universal features for microgrids. This business tool combines artificial intelligence with human intelligence, drawing insights from over 500 real-world projects and leading OEM solutions. The Catalog defines optimal benchmarks for 1 MW microgrid Business Use Cases (mBUCs), scalable from 0.1 MW up to 20 MW. All reasoning is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.Our objective is to simplify clean energy adoption by making microgrids as modular, transparent, and user-directed as smartphones, pickup trucks, or LEGO kits. Prosumers can start with a standardized core and selectively add features as needs evolve—avoiding costly, unnecessary customization upfront.We are seeking collaboration with global organizations, corporate partners, and technical and academic leaders to refine and validate the ChatRMG Catalog as a business reference for scalable, interoperable microgrid deployment.
