Led the team in attaining and maintaining the Center of Excellence with the MBSAQIP since 2014. • I am the Bariatric Coordinator and the MSCR for USMD. • Instrumental in USMD Hospital receiving the Women’s Choice Award for Best places to have Bariatric Surgery in 2016. • Responsible for bi-monthly seminars. Created informative material to educate potential patients on Gastric Sleeves, Bypass, and Gastric Band conversions. • Organize and lead a monthly Support group of 30-50 patients per meeting. • On call for patients 24/7, including holidays. • I round on every patient and go over the surgeons directions for the first week after surgery. • I currently work with 4 surgeons to assure that each of their patients receive their personal standard of care. • Attained and maintained Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction + rating since 2015, the Aetna Institute of Quality rating since 2016, and UHC Optum Bariatric status since 2018. • Created and led the following Quality Improvement Projects: Improving and Enhancing Bariatric Patient Care (2016), Bariatric Patient Post-Operative Nausea and Vomiting (2018), Bariatric Early Recovery after Surgery (2019), Amended Bariatric Early Recovery after Surgery (2020), Post-Surgical Reflux in Sleeve Gastrectomy Patients (2022).
