ABOUT CRYSTAL SMITH
I am a current student at Southern Methodist University, where I am a President\'s Scholar, where my tuition, fees, and room & board paid through a merit scholarship. On campus, I serve as the Dean\'s Office Assistant within the Moody School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, where I review and verify transcripts from applications to SMU\'s graduate programs with attention to detail. Additionally, I stay involved with extracurriculars at SMU by serving as the Art Chair for the Iota Alpha chapter of Chi Omega, where I collaborate with other Board and Exec members on projects for philanthropy events, homecoming, and recruitment. I have also served as a Programming Chair within SMU Program Council, where I planned one event per semester for the entire student body to attend to increase morale and livelihood across campus. During the summers and holiday breaks, I work as a Court Leader and Camp Counselor at the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, Texas. Here, I lead a team of 3-4 tennis coaches and a group of up to thirty children. I plan drills, activities, and tournament play for the students each day, and practice delegation in dispersing roles to the coaches that I am leading. I also monitored a cabin of up to 20 girls each week and facilitated active communication with guardians.
