What’s the biggest problem a company faces when translating their texts? Using incorrect or imprecise terminology in IT and legal texts. Not evoking the intended emotions and feelings among readers when it comes to translating marketing in another language. And, sometimes, translation is not enough: you have to localise IT content to make it effective in the target country. This is where I step in. You can also count on me to transcreate digital marketing content and legal writing. Companies and Language Service Providers wanting an Italian translation of their German or English texts hire me, and I specialise in IT and Tech & Digital Innovation. My career is far from traditional – actually, you can say I have had two so far: 20 years working at a notary’s office, and then the dawning realisation I wanted to become something else. I worked and studied hard to acquire the necessary skills to become a translator. Attending university with peers much younger than myself took some courage, but I did it, I studied (and keep doing so), I trained, I researched industries I knew nothing about before, and did not throw in the towel when facing adversities. I changed my life. And I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, because I love what I do now. My story also mirrors how I approach work: I’m conscientious, determined, and curious.
