ABOUT CRAIG S. HURWITZ
I am an Executive-in-Residence at Duke University where I teach in the Fintech Masters program. My courses include Financial Institutions Products and Services, where I create a practical front-to-back picture of all aspects of the Financial Services industry. In addition, I teach, or have taught, Emerging Trends in Fintech, the Master of Engineering Internship/Project Assessment, and the Fintech Capstone. As an Executive-in-Residence, I work closely with Duke Career Services where I am a very busy career mentor. My key competencies are communication and consultative skills, investment expertise, and financial services industry acumen. I\'m an expert communicator of advanced investment concepts, both in the classroom, as well as in the sales process, and in periodic investment reviews. I have deep expertise in Institutional and Wealth Management, including investment management and strategy, client/advisor experience, Trust, Family Office, trading, and risk. My skill set sits neatly between business and regulation. I have served some of the most unique, interesting, and largest clients on planet earth. My consulting work has given me an insider\'s view of the operating models and risk taxonomies of many of the world\'s largest banks, broker/dealers, asset management firms, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and Family Offices. You might say,\"So what?\" I’d respond that the exposure has given me incredible insight and perspective. I served as a Senior Advisor to the DOJ-appointed monitor for a top-5 global bank that got caught fixing LIBOR. This is an example of some of the interesting work that I’ve done. While at PwC I spearheaded the creation of a cross line of service practice focusing on Family Offices. I\'m the guy who was hired by SalesForce to provide guidance and advice in the development of its solution for the Wealth Management marketplace. Everything that I do is accompanied by a distinct passion for coaching, mentoring, training, and leadership. I am passionate about the arts. I served on the Board of Trustees for The Children\'s Theatre of Cincinnati, one of Cincy\'s largest arts organizations, for almost 20 years. As President, I guided the organization through a dramatic transformation (pun intended) that led to significant increases in brand recognition, revenue, and earned income.
