ABOUT CHRIS PRINGLE

I am an experienced software engineering manager having managed both green-field and brown-field projects through all phases of the software development lifecycle. With experience in both hiring and growing software teams/orgs as well as developing, coaching and performance managing my teams, I have built and developed multiple high-performing teams. I strive for high standards, influencing and implementing coding standards, review processes, continuous integration, test automation, continuous deployment and modern source control management. I have strong hands-on technical experience in real time application development, object orientated design, Linux device drivers, custom hardware and embedded software. I\'ve led teams in the development of custom embedded solutions (software+hardware), streaming playback-solutions for Living Room devices (TVs, Set-top-boxes, games consoles etc) and integrated cloud/on-premise solutions with custom-built data-centres. I\'m passionate about building cross-functional, integrated software teams that are able to deliver quality results, on time and on budget, setting a clear vision and product strategy for my team, along with setting both organization, team and personal goals to achieve the vision. I leverage my exceptional problem solving skills and strong attention to detail to help guide my team, encouraging them to think big, look around corners, explore alternatives/simplifications and to think about non-obvious solutions.I am a strong highly-organized leader with outstanding written and verbal communication skills, enabling me to communicate effectively my org, other teams, senior management, support functions, product management, sales and customers. I enjoy working working in environments with high levels of ambiguity and am able to handle and balance changing requirements, reprioritization and multiple ongoing projects.
