Interim management of newly formed strategic communications and media team identifying opportunities to improve strategic working, effectiveness and encouraging a major shift from reactive day-to-day to long term proactive planning. Identifying opportunities and advising leadership on public engagement and media tactics. Oversight of an exceptionally busy press office in an ever political and polarised media landscape for refugees and people seeking asylum. Co-created, launched and lead communications for Refugee Council’s flag ship campaign: Fair Shot. A digital content campaign, partnering with major clubs across the English League Pyramid using football storytelling to humanise refugee narratives, and shift sentiment with target audiences.
