ABOUT CLAIRE MUNRO

Communications leader with in-depth experience delivering impact through:Strategic communications; PR, public affairs; internal communications; integrated campaigns; stakeholder engagement; CSR/ESG. I am an award-winning communications professional, experienced senior manager and team leader.I’m passionate about great communications and creating motivated, effective teams.I’m currently Senior PR & Communications Manager at Scottish headquartered telecommunications firm GoFibre, incorporating PR, public affairs, community engagement, social impact strategy and internal communications. I previously led a team at Zero Waste Scotland delivering strategic communications around recycling, resource management and litter.I was proud to lead my team to a series of major national U.K. & Scottish awards for our Scotland is Stunning: Let’s Keep it that Way campaign to tackle lockdown litter: 🥇CIPR PRide Gold Award 2021 - Best Public Sector Campaign🥈Silver - Best Use of Digital and Social🥈Silver - Best COVID Response🥇PRCA Dare Awards 2021 Public Sector Award🥇Project Management Institute, Best Project for Social Good 2021🥈Marketing Society Scotland Star Awards 2021, Silver, Public Sector Category CIPR Excel Awards 2021, nominated, Best COVID response🥇Vuelio Online Influence Awards 2020, Best Cause-Led Influence CampaignI also led the Communications workstream for Scotland’s Deposit Return Scheme prior to legislation being approved by the Scottish Parliament in 2020.Prior to that I held the post of PR Manager at Zero Waste Scotland, providing a professional press office service and delivering standout media campaigns for the likes of Scotland’s Carrier Bag Charge and Love Food Hate Waste, Recycle Week.Prior to that I managed press and public affairs at the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, in a senior management role incorporating media relations, social media strategy, editing a monthly magazine and daily e-newsletter and developing the public affairs strategy.I’m proud to be both a Chartered PR practitioner and a Chartered Marketer.I’m a former Committee Member of CIPR Scotland, and of the Management Committee of Paragon Housing Association.I hold the CIPR Diploma in Internal Communications (focusing on employee engagement) and ILM Level 5 qualification in Leadership. In 2021 I gained a Distinction in the AMEC International Certificate in Measurement and Evaluation; enhancing my ability to demonstrate the contribution of communications work to business objectives.
