The Covid Pandemic was an interesting time for me; as I was laid off, then let go during this time; I made the decision to go to welding school; as I have welded here and there most of my life. After finishing trade school in March of 2021; I have taken the position of structural \"Welder\" at Illinois Marine and Towing.I get to weld on Barges, Push & Tug Boats at our shipyard in Lemont, IL all day. I\'m using 6010 various size rods to 7018 various size rods. We are doing oxyfuel & carbon arc cutting; as well as grinding, painting and fitment steel to repair barges.I have experience in Oxyfuel, Plasma and Carbon Arc Cutting; Stick, MIG and TIG + Brazing Copper, Brass, Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel.I\'m working towards my ABS and AWS certifications soon.All of my years as a Project Manager has assisted me in finding my Welding & Fabricating career.
