ABOUT CHRISTOS P. KESSARIS
Dr. Kessaris received his MD from the University of Athens, Greece in 1995. He started his clinical training and career in Neurosurgery in the Greek Army Forces and thereafter in the UK where he completed the Royal Surgical Membership (MRCS) training in 2001. After one year of a neurosurgery fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin he completed his Anesthesiology residency at the same institution. Following a year of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in 2007, he has been working as an attending in general and cardiac anesthesia in the Mid-Atlantic area at St. Francis Healthcare, Deborah Heart / Lung Center and at Temple University as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology. He joined the anesthesia team at Chester County Hospital /Penn Medicine in January 2016 and since July 1st, 2018 he is working with NorthStar at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. Effective November 1st, 2018 he is Chief of Anesthesiology at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and by the National Board of Echocardiography in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography. In June 2024 he received the Dean\'s Special Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching from the Drexel University School of Medicine where he was appointed as Assistant Professor. He has published work in basic science and clinical research in the Journal of Neurosurgery. He is a member of the ASA, SCA, and ASE. Since July 2024 he is working as a Locum Cardiac /General Anesthesiologist for Weatherby Healthcare, Norhtstar Anesthesia as well as Vituity Anesthesia in the mid-Atlantic and Midwestern Region.He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, visiting his native country Greece and reading Philosophy & Logic.
