ABOUT CHRISTOPHER MATTHEWS
Presently, I am a Systems Administrator 3 for a smaller size enterprize installation, utilizing skills in VMware vSphere and ESXi, Microsoft Server 2016 and Windows 10 deployment and management and patching, ADMS/ADUC, DNS, Office, Solarwinds Orion, SAM, NPM, Dameware, and other mainstream IT products. Additionally, I am consolidating team notes into a central KB and am mentoring new hires for onboarding and junior staff for personal career development. I previously worked at a large credit union at the IT Service Desk where I have applied critical analysis to locate gaps in operations, including creating our first KB, developing several of our standardization practices for consistency such as identical PC and laptop installations, and developing end-user cheat sheets for tech self-installations. Before that, I worked full-time in developing online education for a Healthcare Communications app platform, which included voice-over work and technical narration. Prior to that, I worked as the sole Enterprise Backup Engineer (using Veritas NetBackup) and Data Center Operations Engineer (overseeing approximately $25 Million in systems and ecosystem hardware) for an enterprise healthcare org, and part-time in very rural, sometimes austere EMS. I have excellent documentation skills and have an aptitude for professional/technical writing. I am adept at quickly identifying gaps and vulnerabilities and initiating processes to amend the deficits. I have an expansive experience base, including 13+ years in Information Technology, 17 years in Post-Secondary Education, and over 23 years experience in Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Management and Preparedness, and healthcare. I hold many IT certifications as well as certifications as a FEMA Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) and an ICS Train The Trainer.
