In 2021 Eterna Partners developed and managed a media and political campaign for the South African tourism industry to lobby against the UK government’s travel ban to Southern African countries. As a consequence of identifying both the Beta and Omicron variants, South Africa was twice placed on the UK’s “red list”.In both instances, Eterna Partners were retained by SATSA (the trade body representing South Africa\'s inbound tourism industry) and then the Tourism Business Council of South Africa, to lead the tourism industry\'s efforts to ensure the resumption of travel between the two countries.
