ABOUT CHRISTINE ANDERTON
I’m an Assistant Chief with Berks County Juvenile Probation and an Adjunct Instructor at Penn State Berks and Reading Area Community College, dedicated to strengthening juvenile justice through evidence‑based practice, quality assurance, and meaningful community partnerships. With more than two decades of experience in probation services, I’ve built a career focused on accountability, youth development, and system improvement. My work spans leadership in juvenile probation, academic instruction, hostage negotiation, and research review, reflecting a commitment to both frontline service and the advancement of the field. I currently serve as a Faculty Practitioner Developer with Sam Houston State University and as a reviewer for the Journal of Applied Juvenile Justice Services, contributing to the next generation of practitioners and scholarship.Beyond the justice system, I’ve led nonprofit initiatives, managed large-scale community programs, and supported youth‑driven service learning. Whether in the classroom, the field, or the community, I’m driven by a belief in collaboration, continuous learning, and creating environments where young people and professionals can thrive.
