Oversee human resources function for a $80M public interest law firm with over 300 staff located in 14 offices throughout the U.S. Lead an HR department of 7 - utilize staff skills effectively and distribute work to leverage individual strengths and encourage professional growth. Provide leadership and directly execute human resources strategies, programs and policies in support of the overall Earthjustice mission in the areas of organizational and performance management, training and development, benefits and compensation, diversity and inclusion, policies and compliance, talent management and retention. Function as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team and participate in the development of the organization\'s plans and programs that reflect HR best practices. Increase manager effectiveness by creating an ongoing management/leadership training program that reinforces effective coaching, change management, authentic conversations, emotional intelligence and other leadership practices. Partner with senior leadership team to increase employee engagement via an employee satisfaction survey and action plan. The plan outlines continued investments in areas of strengths and addresses key areas for improvement. Partner with leadership to ensure a comprehensive, competitive and equitable total compensation package (benefits and compensation) is in place that enables organization to attract and retain the most talented staff in the country. Improve efficiencies and gain automation by successfully implementing a number of HR systems including HRIS (ADP), attendance tracking (ADP), commuter transit program (Tri-Ad), onboarding (Sapling), online open enrollment (ADP) and applicant tracking (Jobvite). Handle complex employee relations issues at all levels of the organization and creating a culture of accountability, trust and respect.
