The AACA Accreditation Standing Panel comprises independent experts who have the necessary expertise and capacity to serve on Accreditation Review Panels. The Architecture Program Accreditation Procedure in Australia and New Zealand sets out the peer review process through which all architecture programs in Australia are assessed against the accreditation standard over five years or ten semester equivalence of learning cycle. The eight state and territory architect registration boards have statutory responsibility for the accreditation of architectural programs of study within their jurisdictions. Programs accredited in one jurisdiction are recognised in other jurisdictions in Australia and New Zealand.

ABOUT CHRIS BRISBIN
architecture leader, designer, writer, historian, and educator.Chris Brisbin is an award-winning architectural educator, researcher, writer, and disciplinary leader whose work explores architectural education, curriculum benchmarking, assessment reform, design-build pedagogy, and generative AI as sites through which the discipline is being critically reshaped. His research also engages longstanding questions of criticism, critique, and criticality across the fields of art, architecture, and design, and has been published widely in books, journals, and conference proceedings.Chris is President of the Association of Architecture Schools of Australasia (AASA) and a standing panel member of the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA). Across these leadership roles, his work connects research, policy, accreditation, and curriculum transformation at both institutional and sector-wide levels. He has also convened and contributed to symposia, conferences, and public discussions on criticism, architectural education, and disciplinary change since 2012, helping to foster interdisciplinary dialogue across art, architecture, and design. He is co-editor, with Dr Myra Thiessen, of The Routledge Companion to Criticality in Art, Architecture, and Design.
