I lead on regional energy planning for the East of England (Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex). This role requires me to understand how local energy projects, trials and pilots interact with Regional Energy Strategic Planning (RESP); and ensure new RESP processes are designed with local inputs at their heart.I lead a small team of planners working on regional projects and RESP development. My work includes building relationships with local stakeholders to understand their priorities for RESP, and ensuring these are reflected in the design; as well as working with the wider RESP team in the RESP detailed design and development.

An experienced senior manager of teams, projects, programmes and businesses with a long track record of building successful, strategic partnerships, project delivery, new funding generation, innovation, investment and Directorship. Currently, I lead on regional energy planning for the East of England (Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex) at NESO. I lead a small team of planners working on regional projects and RESP development. I was previously Associate Director for Net Zero at the Opergy Group, leading a team of consultants in supporting communities, businesses, industry and Councils in achieving their sustainability and climate change goals. Throughout my career I have worked right across the sustainability and environmental sectors to: develop a range of software based systems to evaluate, measure and help improve environmental performance; deliver environmental and energy strategies for new housing developments, environmental assessments for new road schemes and a ground-breaking, award winning smartphone app (AshTag) to engage the British public in tracking ash dieback disease and put citizen science on the map.I have also spent 16 years in a Higher Education environment, at the interface between academia and business generating world-leading innovation with measurable impact on the economy, environment and society. To enable this, I: developed strategic partnerships and relationships between academia and a range of organisations across a range of sectors - corporates, local and national Government and charities - facilitated significant strategic realignment of UEA’s role as a conveyor and influencer within key sectors, and unlocked major new collaborative funding awards.I have strong leadership, people management and communication skills including public speaking to large audiences and media appearances, and a proven record in delivering major funding successes and managing a wide range of projects and programmes across different industries and countries.
