ABOUT CHRIS MUKAI

Fellowships with local agencies in Silicon Valley, a Big-6 accounting stint, and serving on the Executive Committee for the largest student run charity event in the nation, have led me to a 30+ year career working with communities and non-profits throughout the nation to finance over $500 billion of public infrastructure, operations and initiatives.Helping public agencies, communities and non-profits navigate and solve challenging problems with both simple and sometimes complex, ground-breaking solutions is a passion for me. I’ve been honored to have five of my clients’ financings recognized as “Deal of the Year” by financial industry publications.I\'ve also been fortunate to have my career enriched by hundreds of public speaking appearances and presentations at local government board and council meetings, industry and trade group conferences, investor conferences and roadshows, networking and affinity group events, recruiting events, bake-offs, and internal and external group training/mentoring sessions. Some of the organizations and events where I have had the opportunity to speak and present include: California Bond Buyer Conference, IMN, CDIAC, GFOA, CSAC, CACE, NAFMII of China, and the Milken Institute. Having a lasting impact in the finance industry has also been a point of pride. By participating on the Board of Asian Americans in Public Finance (AAPF) and the AAPI Steering Committee for Citi’s North American Markets businesses, I\'ve been able to advance many Inclusion initiatives and programs. For example, I was proud to bring together many private and public sector professionals - and secure corporate and government sponsorships - for an annual Southern California networking event that has been open to all members of the infrastructure and public finance community. Leading high performance investment banking teams of over 20 professionals, I\'ve had the opportunity to work with and mentor many talented bankers and help them grow into business leaders. Up to 75% of my teams have been comprised of women and people of color, and our teams have been ranked #1 in the Western US during my leadership tenure.
