ABOUT CHRIS MACKIN
I focus on advisory work in the Economic and Monetary Affairs and Budget Committees of the European Parliament. My main policy focus is on Digital Finance, including Digital Assets (e.g. MiCA), Payments legislation and Financial Data legislation. I also work on Capital Markets Union and Brexit-related EU legislation (financial services), but given the nature of the work in the European Parliament, I\'ve also covered policy in other fields. In previous European Parliament terms I worked on the Committee on Transport and Tourism and the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. Originally from Northern Ireland, I graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2009. I spent two years working at the University of Metz before moving to Brussels to undertake a traineeship at the European Commission. I worked at the Northern Ireland Executive Office in Brussels from March 2012 until September 2013. I began working in the European Parliament in September 2013 as a Policy Advisor for George Lyon MEP in the ALDE Group.
