ABOUT CHRIS GRACE

Previously MD for a developing construction firm. With an average turnover of around £750k annually we provided construction and maintenance solutions for a number of commercial firms, schools, hospitals and developers within the Hampshire region. As as specialising in commercial contracting, we also worked with a strong base of domestic customers that we had built over the last number of years. Previous Experience: I have a wide range of skills and experience including over 15 years experience in the third sector. This has placed me in a number of settings across the city working to support young people from multiple backgrounds. Whilst I mostly come from a background of pastoral care, I have previous experience in working with substance misuse rehabilitation as a trained DANOS Worker, homelessness, advice agencies, social services and support groups. In previous years I have lectured BTEC Construction within City College\'s Foundation Learning framework. The focus has been on helping vulnerable young people gain skills on which to get them ready for work, further training and apprenticeships. I have a number of years experience of managing teams of youth workers, working with young people with a wide range of social and personal difficulties, achieving high targets. This included designing bespoke packages of care for individual clients and setting up networks with external organisations to provide a covering for various initiatives. I am part of a network of professionals, commited to economic and social change across the city, particularly in areas of multiple deprivation. My aims are to bring voluntary, charity and public sector agencies together to the benefit of the whole community.
