ABOUT CHARLOTTE STEWART-SLOAN
As an associate at Wolf Greenfield, I work with clients to build strong patent portfolios. I also assist clients in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of their competitors\' and potential business partners\' patent portfolios. My favorite parts of my job are learning about my clients\' business goals and using my legal knowledge to position them for success. I have advised start-ups, midsize corporations, universities, and venture capitalists. Before working at Wolf Greenfield, I earned my Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. In my current role, I leverage the knowledge I learned at MIT to help clients innovating in many areas of applied chemistry. I counsel clients in industries as diverse as batteries, nonwoven media, laboratory instrumentation, medical devices, microfluidics, and diagnostic devices. When I\'m not thinking about patent strategy, I\'m representing unemployed individuals before the Department of Unemployment Assistance\'s bureaucracy pro bono to help them get the unemployment insurance that they deserve.
