ABOUT CHANNEL CREATIVE INVESTMENT FUND
Creative Investment Fund The Creative Investment Fund (CIF) is Channel 4’s new way of backing the UK’s independent creative sector. By investing in ambitious and scalable production companies and helping them grow, the fund supports the next wave of British stories while creating new, sustainable income streams for Channel 4.Launched in May 2025, the fund followed the Government’s removal of the publisher-broadcaster restriction and the introduction of a new sustainability duty in the Media Act 2024.In September, the CIF acquired Scottish indie Firecrest Films. It also brought the 15 companies in Channel 4’s Indie Growth Fund under its wing – continuing to support them while opening the door to new partnerships. The CIF has the flexibility to tailor deal structures to the needs and ambitions of creative partners, with the option to take majority stakes in scalable companies and a pathway to full ownership. Its goal is to build a portfolio of leading global IP creators, helping to fuel Channel 4’s future through both creative excellence and commercial success.
