TurnUp is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and mobile app that comprises the largest youth-led voter registration and turnout initiative. We’re on a mission to strengthen democracy by increasing high-impact youth civic action and closing the gap between young people who want to take civic action and those who take action. TurnUp includes four integrated programs to increase youth voter registration and turnout: on-campus registration and turnout drives, relational registration and turnout programs, grassroots organizing, and digital campaigns. Forbes recognized TurnUp as the #1 standout tech non-profit organization.

ABOUT CHAINY DUONG

Hello! My name is Chainy and I am an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Sociology. My academic interests are centered around child development and clinical psychology, where I hope to build a future career supporting children’s growth, resilience, and well-being. In sociology, I am deeply passionate about equity and inclusion, and I strive to reflect these values both in my academic work and in the way I carry myself.Beyond the classroom, I serve as a Data & Research Recruitment Assistant at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD), a comprehensive center that provides multidisciplinary clinical services, conducts cutting-edge research, and leads advocacy initiatives. In this role, I support research recruitment efforts that contribute to improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families across North Carolina and beyond.I also dedicate my time to advancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism. As a volunteer with Triangle Autism and Disability Services, I partner with children and adults in our community to support their personal goals and dreams through advocacy, mentorship, and meaningful engagement.
