ABOUT CESARE G. ARDITO

Mathematician (pure+education). PhD at the University of Manchester. Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree at Sapienza University of Rome, PGCert in Higher Education at the University of Manchester.Currently working as a Lecturer at the University of Manchester. Before this, I was a Teaching fellow at the same institution, and before then I was a postdoctoral researcher at City University in London (UK), supported by an Early Career Fellowship awarded by the London Mathematical Society.My research interests in higher education and pedagogy mostly involve the impact of generative AI on the current framework, with a focus on students perspective. My research interests in mathematics lie in finite group theory, in particular modular representation theory and global-local conjectures. I work on a variety of topics such as blocks of finite group algebras and their equivalences and invariants, fusion systems and Picard groups of blocks.In 2023, I was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, in recognition of how my teaching style meets the criteria of the UKPSF. I previously held Fellowship since 2019. I am a Member of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications since 2023.I manage the I3Italy project as a volunteer, which consists of an online free guidebook for Italians that live in England, and two supporting social media pages. I am an elected councillor in the Manchester Comites, representing Italians living in the North of England, of which I am also the president since June 2024.I am a Level 1 OISC registered immigration adviser, limited to the EU Settlement Scheme. I am a volunteer for Settled to help European citizens eligible for the EUSS to secure their right to live in the UK.I also offer private lessons in Mathematics at all levels, and I am a volunteer for the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds).I\'m as proactive as anyone can be, so I\'m usually involved in tons of other stuff.
