ABOUT CÉCILE KAIFLYN
Website: I seek to \"immobilize\" movement in order to gain a deeper understanding of its essence, to contemplate each of its nuances. A Swiss visual artist born in Geneva in 1988, my encounter with Chinese painting, both traditional and contemporary, sparked in me a growing fascination with the way these artists capture nature and landscapes with infinite poetry and elegance. This discovery led me to Beijing, where I studied Mandarin while training in traditional ancestral painting and calligraphy under the guidance of Chinese masters. As an artist, I believe in a constant pursuit of growth and improvement. That’s why I enjoy exploring various styles, mediums, and techniques, anything that pushes me beyond my comfort zone. My work is inspired by lyrical abstraction and the philosophy of Chinese art, two movements that share the same intent: to capture the creative impulse of the gesture and to fully immerse oneself in the act of creation.
