ABOUT CATHY ARNOLD
Following completion of my contract with DATA-CAN and HDRUK, I am now Head of Data Services at University of Leeds. I am part of a team led by Monica Jones at an exciting time of transformation for the university in its management of data to improve access and usability for those in education, research and knowledge sharing.Having been a member of both the Government Project Delivery Profession and the Government Property Profession, I am an accredited Senior High Risk Review Team Leader for the Infrastructure & Projects Authority.I am currently Vice President of the Council of Europe Ad-hoc Committee on Buildings, having held the role of President from 2016 to 2018.Previous experience includes- starting a new adventure in 2019 as owner of Sable & Hogg Gallery in Brecon, an art gallery and framing studio with a particular focus on Welsh artists, landscapes and nature. Sadly, Covid meant closing the gallery early in 2021 as it was no longer sustainable, but this gave me the chance to move back to Yorkshire and return to the project delivery profession- Deputy Director Portfolio Management Division at the Office for National Statistics for nearly 20 months working with a fantastic team looking after the portfolio and as Head of Profession for Project Delivery- Director of Estates & Operations, at the National Portrait Gallery, looking after visitor services, IT, project management, estates and security- Head of Programme Delivery and Head of Profession for Project Delivery and Property at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office; Senior Responsible Owner for two Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) schemes- Project Professional at Mace International, seconded to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office as Project Sponsor for the UK Estates Reform Project- Head of Category Management, Place & Projects, at Medway Council responsible for delivery of consistent project management and procurement processes across £230 million of external third party spend focussing on protecting front line services and seeking improvements to service delivery- Capital Programme Manager for the schools programme at Medway Council- Freelance work specialising in programme management and public sector consultancy- Various project roles as an architect in the private sector.I have had a wide-ranging career as a chartered architect, construction lawyer, programme and project manager, coach and resources expert.
