ABOUT DAMARIS R.

My name is Damaris - I’m a commercially astute senior finance leader with a track record of high performance. I’m qualified as an accountant (European - certified, UK - qualified by experience) with an MBA. I have recently been awarded half of the CIMA Programme, with just 6 exams to complete to achieve full CIMA qualification. During my +10-year career, I’ve worked across beauty/cosmetics, apparel, defence and airport retail industries, honing a broad skill set that is highly transferable to small companies or established multinationals, operating in any fast-paced sector and different channels: Wholesale, Retail and Ecommerce. I’ve been working for The Estee Lauder Companies (Le Labo Fragrances) since 2018. In my initial role as Senior Accountant - EMEA & Head of UK Finance, I led the UK finance team in delivery of a wide range of technical and commercial accounting duties on a multijurisdictional basis. Notably I was a key catalyst behind the integration of Le Labo with Estee Lauder Companies. Currently I’m Global Senior Finance Analyst, at the forefront of capital projects and sales outcomes. Previously I spent 3 years with Avon Cosmetics. Upon joining the business, I was based in Spain and owned all aspects of financial controlling and reporting for 11 international markets (t/o €24m pa). Latterly I relocated to the UK and took on the role of IT Financial Analyst EMEA. My expertise includes financial modelling, treasury management, financial controls, budgeting/forecasting, month end close, management accounts, statutory returns, financial analysis, and tax matters. I’m fully conversant with IFRS and US GAAP standards. My knowledge of internal controls (Sarbanes-Oxley) is in-depth. I’m also experienced at overseeing internal/external audit processes. Tech savvy, I am conversant with SAP, Oracle, Sage, Hyperion, SmartView, Essbase, QuickBooks, Excel (VB), SQL and more. I thrive as finance thought leader, providing key insight to business stakeholders and keeping finances on track. Exceptionally added value driven, I have particular strength in identifying opportunities for improved profitability, competitive edge and cost reduction. I’m fluent in English, Italian and Spanish.
