ABOUT CAROLYN NIERSBACH

Consultant at Bain & Company with experience across strategy, operating models, education, and social impact.At Bain, I have supported projects across a variety of key topics such as long-term strategy, market definition and product development, organizational transformation, operating model design and efficiency, and commercial due diligence. Passionate about creating equitable communities where others thrive, I serve as Chief Ombudsman and in leadership positions for Women at Bain, university recruiting, and undergraduate mentorship programs.My work centers on driving systematic, sustainable change at the intersection of strategy, learning, and impact. I’m most energized by efforts that accelerate growth and strengthen organizational capacity, whether through redesigning systems, aligning strategy to mission, or building structures that enable people and products to thrive.That same focus has guided my impact-oriented work beyond Bain. At The Bridgespan Group, I supported impact fund diligence and strategy within the impact investing practice. With KIPP NJ and KIPP Foundation, I focused on talent and operating model design to enable scale and sustainability. Most recently, I served as a Strategy and Learning Fellow at Education Pioneers, working to build capacity in the public school system by advancing pipelines that strengthen strategic, operational, and data capabilities.I earned a MBA from The Wharton School and a Master\'s of Education in Education Policy (M.S.Ed.) from Penn GSE, where I studied how strategy, systems, and policy can work together to build stronger organizations and communities. Prior to joining Bain, I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with Highest Distinction as a GLOBE Scholar and Buckley Public Service Scholar. My degrees in Business Administration and Public Policy, coupled with my global experience at Copenhagen Business School and The Chinese University of Hong Kong enabled me to understand and approach complex, systemic issues across the public and private sector at home and in international markets.
