THE PRODUCTION COORDINATOR: A Production Office Master Class is a manual and 2-day seminar. It has been presented in West Virginia, Ohio, Georgia, California and New Mexico. The seminar has also been brought to an international online membership of Stage 32. Ck got invitations from the IATSE Local 871 in California and IATSE Local 480 in New Mexico for their members.WHAT IS IT?The heart of any film or TV show is the Production Office. Within it cast and crew are hired and coordinated, equipment is ordered and received, and deals are cut. At the center of this activity is the Production Coordinator (POC). Along with a team consisting of a travel coordinator, Assistant POC, and Production Assistants, the POC helps orchestrate the day-to-day operations of the production office. The position requires adept organizational skills, resourcefulness and the ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously under often high-pressure situations. Important skills one must have include: organization and multitasking, strong computer skills, team leading, and communication. The more systematized and efficient the production office is, the smoother things should run on throughout the production. CREATOR: Carol “Ck” Kravetz has been a Production Coordinator in Film & Television for over 30 years. Her credits include features films for MGM, Embassy, AIP, Filmways, Warner Brothers, HBO & USA Network. Her series television credits include Showtime, Nickelodeon, 20th Century Fox, and Sony. Her final bow was a little show that she retired on entitled “Breaking Bad” from AMC/Sony; who could top that? In retirement Ck has continued her quest to help Mother Earth and humanity survive from the ravages of climate change. As a Climate Leader with Climate Reality Project and Citizens Climate Lobby she gives climate presentations and has served as the liaison to her Congressman. As a Climate Leader, she is part of a 350.org legislative team that trains climate activists to lobby their legislators.
