ABOUT PRANTIK MITRA

Prantik Mitra is the Director of Applied Sciences & Business Innovations at MicroEnergy Credits. He also leads the global decarbonisation initiative for hard-to-abate sectors such as aviation and shipping. He acts as a clean energy investment advisor to various financial partners.Prantik is a climate change and renewable energy professional. He is interested in low-carbon pathways and green investment to catalyse the clean energy market space. He has experience in strategic advisory, product management, applied data sciences, and techno-economic consulting across the energy and climate change domain. As an undergraduate student in earth sciences, Prantik was interested to understand the dynamics of the climate and earth systems. During his MSc studies, he developed an interest in the interactions ofenergy systems with the changing climate, where he specialized in integrated assessment modelling and climate policies. Prantik worked with Microsoft, TERI, and Bridge To India Energy. He has worked on many projects, scaling from modelling power supply-demand assessment and optimal electricity pricing to market research on renewable energy investment across geographies.Prantik is an avid learner and has continued to study more about climate change and clean energy finance through the open courses by World Bank and the UN. Prantik is an alumnus of Presidency College (Calcutta) and TERI University. Currently, he is pursuing an MSc in Financial Engineering from WorldQuant University.He is certified in Machine Learning and Data Science from Stanford University. He has an honours certificate in Financial Markets from Yale University.He was a Create to Inspire Fellow for Microsoft and has completed a certificate course in Climate Change under Green Revolution from ICCE.He is a Cricket and Badminton enthusiast but is also actively interested in Horse riding, Swimming, and Kayaking.For leisure, he indulges in cooking, theatre, poems, painting, and recitation.
